Interior light time delay

Has anyone successfully fitted an interior/courtesy light time delay unit to their car?

The light going off as soon as you shut the door is a bit irritating to be honest and one of the things that I would like to add to my car. You know one of those subtle, practical upgrades that just makes day to day use a little bit easier.

I appreciate that you can just put the light on manually of course, but then I have to do something and I prefer something to do the job for me lol

The easy project is the time delay.... the difficult one is the  time delay with fade function...

Interesting, I would have thought that one of the units available acts like a capacitor to store power for a certain amount of time. Then as the stored power is diminishing the light would fade out?
