Car also won a prize for "best of the rest" (open category as long as it wasn't a mark 1 or 2 Escort), so the Ford boys must know a good car when they see one!!! Car is in fairly good nick, but the paintwork never really pleased us, so its getting a full rub down and new coat of white. Undecided whether or not to do it exactly as it was before, or to paint numberplate/rear light surround, bumper stripes etc in black. Got there in the end. Thanks for the info on the tyres, I have Falken 225 tyres (can't remember the type/tread) on the rears, the tyre firm took 40 minutes to fit one tyre as the side walls were tough. I might have to think of a different approach when replacing them next by either going up a size (all-round) or getting a spacer and 8" wide on the rears.
