Snowy
The car is just about done now. Just need to find time to get it to an MOT station..
Snowy
Got the timing cover back on today. Only the head left to do now.
Snowy
Finally had some time and put the head back on today. Got to start putting the parts needed to get it runing on fuel injection now. Question: Fuel lines inside the car or underneath. I'm going to be using 10mm copper pipe.
Kevin Abbott
Use 8mm copper pipe, 10mm is a nightmare to bend. I'm thinking of running the fuel pipes inside on the mancona but it still sort of scares me. Snowy
Ok, thanks for the advise. I will switch to 8mm copper pipe. I'm still not sure about running it inside the car but if i do it will be 100% copper with no joins inside.

Snowy
New fuel lines installed now. Does the fuel feed from the tank connect to the fuel pressure regulator on the fule rail or does it not matter which way around? Thanks
rutts
pressure release is on return side i think, OMOC 5231
Snowy
Well it lives now. After many hours of work it runs!!! Cant get the idle down below 1000rpm so think i may have an induction leak. Prime suspect is the injector seals as i had to re use the old ones. Tomorrow i'm going to check the: 1.Servo vacuum pipe. 2.Rocker box to inlet plenum pipe. 3.Airflow meter to plenum pipe - But this is brand new from OCP. 4.Dissy vacuum pipe. 5.Warm up regulator pipe work - i need new pipes but i dont think they are leaking. Can anyone suggest anything else? Thanks.
Snowy
The vacuum leak is down to a worn throttle spindle. Will need to re bush a spare one i have. I have just filled the voids with vasaline. But the car is now up and running. Small leak from the rocker cover gasket as i had to re use the old one.
paulmanta
A job very well done, That looks like it has always been there and has not replaced an 1800 ! nice and neat and clean too. may be at Billing if you still have it ?
Sutty2006
What process did youuse to paint the engine? ------------ Drift on!!!! OMOC 6081 Recovery work taken. Email for more details
Snowy
I wanted it to look original. I've even spliced in the proper plug to connect the fuel injection loom in. Still needs tidying up though. To paint the engine i just cleaned everything with parafin and then brush painted it with engine enamel. Just make sure you clean all the old oil and gunk off or it wont stick. Would it be worth wrtting up exactly how to do this conversion? Or would most people already know how to do this??
Sutty2006
Well im about to put a 2.1 CIH and 5 speed gearbox into a b series that originally had a 1600 in it.
