I was for keeping this car as per factory spec Gaz as it was supposed to be mint apart from the engine needing set up right, and a few blemishes on the paint.

With the underneath rusting in the usual places the first job in hand will be to get it stripped right back to metal and do any repairs that are required then paint it to prevent any futher rust,

The next job will be to sort out the engine bay and boot then finally the outer shell of the car.

Once the body work is sorted and I have a good shell, the thoughts on what engine will come to light [:)].

I put up some resto pics etc on the V8 Gaz on my website, mind you i still got to finish it but getting close now. [:)]

HI GAZ

THE BEST WAY OF SECURING THE FRONT CORNERS OF THE SPOILER IS TO BOND 2 M8 BOLTS TO THE INSIDE THEN BOLT THEM THROUGH THE WINGS.I ALSO KNOWN A MAN WHOS MAKES THE BROADSPEED FRONT SPOILER AND ALSO THE REAR LOUVRE FOR A MANTA "A".THESE ARE OFF GENUINE FIBRE GLASS PATTERNS AND HE ALSO IS NO RIP OFF MERCHANT.PLEASE E-MAIL ME IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED.

ROBBIE LOOKS A GOOD PROJECT.LOOKS LIKE IT WILL MAKE A GOOD ONE(ESPECIALLY IF YOU PAINT IT BLACK,AND I KNOWN WERE YOU CAN GET THE STRIPES FROM)NUGDE,NUGDE,WINK,WINK,YOU KNOWN WHAT I MEAN.....

Cheers Russ your a star, will require a set of the stripes, then that just leaves the front spoiler to match and one gauge for inside [;)]

Having time of at times means work lol [^]

Played about with the engine last night and the timing was wayyyyyyyy out no wonder it didnt start, had to end up moving the dissy near 45 deg to get it to spark at the right point.

Apart from that the wrong rotor arm was in the car hence no spark to start with.

But 2 hrs later and some jungle juice the wee engine sprang to life again [:D][:D]

With that done and a day of today I decided to pop the engine and gearbox out to get a better look round the engine bay and Chassis legs [:)]

With that done a nice cuppa was had in comfort in the posh seats [^]

To many late nights this week,

Got the wings taken off on Tuesday night and just in time by the looks of it they had just started to rust in the usual places on the A Series but still only surface rust at this point.

With the wings of took one look at the body shutz and knew what was in fornt of me. My M8 Paul landed out last night and the Shutz started to get slowly scrapped of on parts of the inner wings will take ages to get it all removed, but this is whats uncovered at the moment.

ps%20box%20section%20640.JPG

Box section has a few holes and the A post at the windscreen has a small hole.

ps%20inner%20wing%20640.JPG

The 3 joins in the inner wing are quite rusty and need repaired in a few spots

ps%20inner%20wing%20front%20640.JPG

The shutz is still on here and the front does not look to bad , just one hole to the engine bay compartment, though I suspect I will come across more rust when the shutz is removed.[:(]

I would totally agree with you Clive if the car hadnt of been repaired before, last owner paid for it to be restored 6 years ago and believe me some of the past repairs will be cut out again, never mind what they bluffed [}:)]

Will know more as I get more underseal of, going to strip the rest of the engine bay next so I can get at the sound deading around the bulkhead area, it looks like its been replaced in areas to me, so I recon something was going on in there.

Robbie, you couldnt pay a garage to do as good a job as the enthusiast will do to a car he loves. Remember the mess the MOT station made of my chassis rails? It'd be better if they left the bloody thing alone coz it takes us longer to fix the mess they've made.

Hope you dont find too many 'bluff ups'!

If what I say can be taken in 2 ways and one of those ways get you angry....I meant it the other way
