Original Manta B Gte Lhd - Germany

Recommended Posts

The Ten Grand Concours original Manta GTE Coupe might have arrived.

If traders are asking 7/8k for a hatch, which un-warrented prejudices value at a lower price then the days of a trader putting Coupes up for 10k is just around the corner. Of course what they actually get is another matter but it's good amunition come agreed value insurance time.

The interior really is gorgeous, my fave style too.

Engleman mirrors were standard on GTE Mantas (or GSI) over the water. It was only the UK that got the cheep and nasty boring mirrors that we live with haha.

Cool. Something new learned cheers mate B)

Side repeaters are in the wrong place on the front wings.

Left hand drive or not, the wings look like they've been replaced and the indicators moved to a forward position.

Love that interior though.

Actually, that may not be true. Side repeaters weren't required over there till the 90's of I remember correctly. There aren't many foreign mantas with side repeaters. Infact I've got one picture only of a Dutch manta with side repeaters and they are in the same place as this one. I'll try get the picture up later...but my anorak is in the way lol

I've just had a flick through my pictures of the Dutch Show 2013 and not one Manta has side repeaters.

Perhaps they were available as a special order or dealer fit and European regulations of the time stipulated that they had to be within a certain distance from the front of the car.

:o Looks a cracker. Just how original is it though with having the Engleman mirrors? Or were they ever an option?

My Manta has engelmann mirrors, and they are labeled(?) with gm original number on all parts. (Excuse my not so good English  )

Lovely example there always seems to be a very gradual and steady supply of these immaculate low mileage examples and they are always in Holland. I think the GSI's were fitted as standard with the Engelmann mirrors on but the UK spec Mantas all had the square ones for lack of a better description.
