611
Would there be any problems or issues if i move the steering rack forward an inch from the cross member on and A series? the position will be exactly the same as standard ie. bolted in to the cross member with the original bolt holes so the alignment would be the same, but just spaced forward to give me a bit of a better angle for the steering rod. Thanks Andy

611
Hey Paul Thanks for the info, if that's all that is effected then that's not too much of a problem. i have wide tyres on there anyway so the lock is not that great on a good day :-) Andy
bones
I would have thought it would create bump steer problems?
Paul Barrett
Bump steer would only be induced if you altered the angle of the steering arms, ie lowering the rack
611
Thanks for the info, i have decided to just buy a double steering joint as they can cope with up 70 degrees angle so that should save moving the rack. Bloody expensive to buy from the US. I had all the other parts but the single one looked to be a bit tight on the angle so i hope this will solve it!! mantadoc
Will be messing up the geometry, Ackerman angle for instance. Lowering the rack and lowering the track rod ends how Mantaray did, for example, would not affect geometry

Andy I bought two of these last week, I think they were £30 + vat each http://www.steering-racks.co.uk/ujs/
Julian
If you are talking about the same joints as are used on the Manta column, I have a couple of them, used but excellent condition. Edited October 28, 2014 by Julian
611
I wish it was as i have a couple myself!! Due to the tight angle i need to get the steering column to take i need one of these. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BRG-024949 and you don't seem to be able to get cheap ones or even ones over here?
