Manta Coupe Rebuild With Omega V6 Engine

Have started the bare shell rebuild and an awful lot of welding to be done. have ordered the 400 kit and have the omega on stand by ready to take the engine out and start the transplant, Hoping to be ready for Goodwood at the end of June but cant see it. Any advice would be welcome

this all looks familier:) your going to be busy with that mate. id advice shotblasting 1st. see what you have left to work with b4 you plough loads a money
in to it.  good luck with the build mate

Deffo reccomend getting it basted, costs about £500 but well worth it if you intend keeping the car.

got some work to do there mate. good luck. and as advised get it blasted, well worth it, or dipped if you can afford it.

Don't just take it to any commercial blasters!

Indeed, commercial blasters will wreck it, you need someone who are used to car bodies,it's a completely different technique.

Thanks for your advice about having the shell blasted, what i didn't tell you is that these pictures where taken a couple of weeks ago.
i have my own sanblaster which i have silica sand, so all the underside has allready been blasted and the welding will be nearly finished this week end my friend is helping me and we have had some very long nights and busy weekends i will post some more pics on over the weekend of the current progress and condition.

Cool, all sounds good! Know you will anyway but wear a very good mask if using sand, the fine dust is very dodgy health wise (silicosis) we use crushed glass as its much safer. Not saying don't use sand just be careful!

After a busy couple of weeks welding is well on the way and engine is nearly removed from the Omega

new swan necks welded inn, still more blasting to do around tunnel but will need to cut some away for the gearbox so have left that for now

Been busy with work for last few weeks, but now have engine fitted and the 400 body kit is all fitted, now time to start the bodywork
