HELLO.Ok i have the annoying hissing when i apply the brakes and after i have taken my foot off the brakes on my 1977 Opel Manta 1.9sr.Not only that the engine revs drop making it nearly stall?I was wondering if this could be down to the NRV or do you think that the servo is just US? any help would be thankfully received.

it sound like it could be either the Vacum hose or the servo. Cheapest option would be to fit a new hose and valve, if that doesn't cure it then it could well be the servo thats gone

My Cav did the same when the servo was rusted through. Worth checking!

I have experienced that a faulty vacuum valve for the brake servo gave me this issue years back. Try that first as its a cheap part, and check the hose.

Thanks to all im not ignoring you! ive changed NRV, hoses seem ok but should maybe change to be sure but at the mo no change. Although the old valve was quite hard to blow through could maybe do to go for a drive but only when better weather permits thanks again.
