Got the driver side floor all in, some work was needed on a job done some years back to make it good, also spruced up the front axle, and sprayed the nearside with stonechip.









near side now stone chipped, next its underbody sealant.

Decided to start on the bodywork

Here's the same hole, or not, welded a plate into the hole and filled, also there is a similar job done about 2" to the left of it.


This is the worse sill on the hole car,

Been busy these past weeks, Repaired the bad spots with some plating and filler, and fitted the replacement rear valence I had made up.

here's one of the rear corners after welding a plate where there once was a hole.


Here's the rear valence before (with 2 door bottoms)


And here welded onto the car, Plenty of grinding and filling to be done to get it right.

Rear valence in all sorted, fuel tank and rear axle all cleaned and painted, then used all new stainless bolts to attach them, will get some picts when the weathers decent enough to give me light. Been doing the roof where the vinyl covering had ruined it. cut out the rust holes and welded new plates in, some of the shapes are a bit fiddly, but some fettling with a rubber mallet gives me a good base to work from
C pillar just above the boot, window edge had to go too.

And final plate, its quite thick steel about a mill and a half, but easy to manipulate. just filled and rubbed it down, and its looking good.

Been busy today, finished the Nearside C pillar.

Thanks, been busy most weekend and nights on it, all the underside is cleaned up painted and protected, all new Stainless bolts for the Suspension too.
here's the engine bay all tidied up, welded up all the bolt and cable clamp holes then a light skim and some brush on Hammerite. Looks a damn site better now.

Sorry to tell you this, but stainless fasteners should not be used in high stress areas, they are nowhere near the sheer or tensile strength of the bolts/fasteners you would have removed.

There BZP Tensile Bolts bolts from Screwfix, Nickel plated as opposed to solid stainless steel.

A busy weekend adapting the 5 speed for my A series

Box in place but the transmission tunnel is for an Auto Box

removed the adapter plate
next, shorten the gear lever bracket

weld it up

next the selector linkage, shorten and tack weld for a trial.

put them together.

trial fit to make sure the lever comes thro in the right place.


Gear lever is the original one, is going to be lengthened to emulate the correct one fitted to this model.

next cut and shorten the prop.


Remembered doing this with my baby some 10 years back, quite easy really, its just the appliance of science. got it level and straight to within 2 tho.
then polished and welded, then checked for alignment again.

now to remove it all and give it a good paint job.

Hey, looking good. thought mine needed some work but nothing compared to what you are doing!
When do you hope to have it all running by? Am trying to get mine ready for billing :-)

Slow week but got some of the boot seal gutter replaced.
Before, bit rusty and tea bag like.

After, bit of bending and welding and all new gutter fitted.



Quick skim of filler and all will be nice.
