Due to my new business start up my beloved Cavalier has to go. Over the past two years it has been developed from a standard tidy 2000 GLS automatic to its current 2.0 16v manual specification - costing over £5k!

It is fully road legal, taxed and mot'd. The bodywork is great and it is very reliable. Over the past two years it has covered around 2000 miles including a retro car run to the Nurburgring last August.

Specifications include:

Body -

1981 Vauxhall Cavalier GLS 2000 4 door saloon

Original Yellow/Brown/Mustard colour

Vinyl roof

Engine -

Refurbished C20XE 2.0 'redtop' engine, including professionally modified cylinder head (for RWD conversion)

ARP heavy duty big end and flywheel bolts

Early XE lightweight flywheel

Yamaha R1 carbs on custom Bogg Brothers manifold

Pipercross foam air filter on custom backing plate

Peter Lloyd Rallying exhaust manifold

MegaJolt fully programmable electronic ignition system (ultra reliable & allows you to tweak the ignition timing from a laptop!)

2 1/4" custom exhaust

Boot mounted R1 fuel pump with built in regulator

Opel Manta 5spd Getrag gearbox and Opel Manta propshaft

Pacet electric fan

Cool running thermostat

Custom HT Leads

Heavy duty engine mounts

Aluminum expansion tank

Should make around 165bhp at the wheels

Suspension -

AVO 16 point adjustable dampers and -60mm AVO lowering springs

Brakes -

Refurbished and polymer coated Vauxhall Vectra calipers

256mm Vented Group C Astra 16v brake discs with alloy offset adapters

Red Dot fast road brake pads

Opel Manta GTE servo

Refurbished Opel Manta brake master cylinder

Wheels & Tyres -

Rare Opel Manta 15 inch ATS Classics imported from Germany

New wheel nuts

As new Bridgestone Potenza tyres

Interior -

Original unmolested interior in good condition

Spare matching Opel Manta Recaro front seats in good condition with subframes ready to fit!

Mega Jolt ignition controller mounted in glovebox to give easy access for tuning

Bad points -

Vinyl roof lifting slightly

Small amounts of rust forming around rear arches (quite minor)

Some paint missing off front splitter

Centre console missing

Heater still needs to be fitted (but is supplied)

Several magazines have shown a recent interest in featuring this car!

Hi, is your Cavalier still for sale?

I did look at it when it was on ebay a while back.

My first car was a 1977 cavalier 1900 GL, sapphire blue met. with black vinyl roof.

Could be mid life crisis, but can't stop looking at picks of the cavvy, I will have to try and persuade

the other half that we need another motor!

I converted my Manta to 5 speed and removed a perfect box. Advertised it here for 12 months free to collector them dumped it. Broke my heart binnig good spares but needed the room.

That doen't help you thoughI'm afraid. Try a wanted ad here, bet someone might have one.
